HOMEWORK POLICY

Homework for Fourth Graders is assigned each Monday through Thursday and should take about 40 minutes each night to complete.  Each student receives a Student Assignment Book.  Your child will be responsible for copying his/her assignments from the board each day.  Please check and sign these assignment books daily when all homework is completed neatly. The assignment books will be checked every Friday morning for completion and parent’s signatures.  At the end of each week students will receive credit on their reward card if planners are signed Monday through Thursday.  It is important that you check the assignment book and your child’s work not only for completion, but to also keep current with what your child is learning.  Assignments completed on time will be given full credit.  Late or incomplete assignments will be deducted from the quarter grade accordingly.  In addition to daily homework, students will read for a minimum of 20 minutes each night.  Students will keep track of their reading minutes in their assignment book.

Homework tips:

 *Check planners and folders daily

 *Sign planners only when work is completed neatly

 *Designate a specific place to do work with necessary supplies

 *Reading vocabulary and Spelling words are given every Monday. Review nightly, both tests will be given every Friday.

 *Review Math facts as often as possible

 *Read 20 minutes each day
